Psychology of Coaching: A Study of Coaching Methods from the Point of View of Psychology by Coleman Roberts Griffith
Psychology of Coaching: A Study of Coaching Methods from the Point of View of Psychology by Coleman Roberts Griffith was published in 1926 by C. Scribner’s Sons. It was the first book to focus on the psychology of coaching, although it looked at the psychology of sport coaching. A precursor to this book was his article on Psychology and its relation to athletic competition (Griffith, 1925). Griffith is often considered the founder of American sport psychology although there is no direct link between his original work in the field and its later establishment but his work was rediscovered.
